AT Consulting Company and "Alfa-Bank" announced the successful implementation of migration of the corporate data warehouse based on Oracle DBMS.
The platform used previously in the bank has exhausted its opportunities for scaling the system, its continued use carried a significant risk of performance loss for "Alfa-Bank" data warehouse already in the near future. Implementation of Oracle technologies enabled the bank to withdraw the system limit on scaling, to increase productivity of storage services and to optimize the data storage structure, to reduce download time and to create the optimal infrastructure for further development of the system in terms of both strong support of key business processes and creating a competitive advantage in the banking services market. The project carried out migration of 8 terabytes of data, modernization of more than 800 programs and 200 reports.
To date, the system has provided a streamlined process management reporting across all key units of the bank and is the basis for a range of critical business processes.
"The implementation of the migration data warehouse in Oracle technology platform is an important step on the way to a system report generation to a new level of development. In the current market conditions, the knowledge of who our client is, is a key success factor for the bank, remarks deputy head of the IT unit of "Alfa-Bank" Mikhail Kolenkin. - I would also like to emphasize that the task of modernizing the bank storage was a top priority for us in 2009, and we succeeded." According to him, the storage services started operation without interruption and at full capacity since the very first days after completion of the migration. "Therefore, one of the critical success factors in the project includes having a strong professional team, whose work was based on the principles of trust and openness between the bank and the contractor," Mikhail Kolenkin concluded.
