Artificial intelligence in the service of customers of "VimpelCom"

"VimpelCom" is the first Russian telecommunication operator, who used data sourcing to improve the processes of customer service. The introduction was made by companies AT Consulting and SPSS Rus.

The project introduction of data sourcing (a.k.a. data mining) in "VimpelCom" is to support strategic business objectives of the company (for analytical and research work with the possibility of personalized marketing campaigns.)

Thanks to an efficient team of specialists working together between AT Consulting, SPSS and key employees of "VimpelCom", implementation is very effective.

The project consultants of AT Consulting were implemented two phases. The first phase involved the analysis of requirements, development of infrastructure, implementation and configuration of data mining for business users. In the second phase of the project was to successfully build the information system capacity.

The project was made possible thanks to the existing "VimpelCom" data storage (Business Intelligence and Information System), which is an extension of the support and is also engaged in AT Consulting. The data warehouse collects and structures the in-depth information about each customer, and is a major provider of data for the Data Mining system. As a software tool for Data Mining the software from the company Clementine SPSS was selected and used. Clementine was involved in its first introduction of this scale in Russia. SPSS Clementine software grants opportunities for creation of powerful predictive models designed to solve their business problems as well as to process large amounts of data (which is especially important for JSC "VimpelCom").

The key users of the system are employees of Block marketing. The introduction of new business processes, based on the basis of data mining of "VimpelCom" is expected to accelerate the time it takes to market new products and to make them as accurate as possible to target specific groups of users, thereby increasing customer loyalty and customer satisfaction.
